Wonder

As she sits in the dark, the wind making her hair sawy with it's gentle breeze, she was more content than she had felt in a long while. She sat on the sun lounger, her legs out in front of her as if she was trying to catch the suns rays, even though the sun was not in sight yet.She laid her head back and closed her eyes and just listened to the waves crash off of the rocks that lay almost directly beneath her. The whooshing noise was something that she had always loved, the waves breaking as they hit the golden sand, the soft lapping that they made against the shore compared to the crashing with a wild wave against the rocks. She loves to watch the sea, at this time of the morning just before sunrise, it seemed so black, lonely and sometimes even scary. The fact that one had no idea whay lies beneath the inky blackness. As she blinked the she saw the sky change from it's darkness to that blue colour that it changes to just before the sun peaks it's sleepy head. The moon, that lonely orb in the sky disappears on one side, as the sun, warm, red and welcoming rises on the other side. Turning the sky a scarlet pink, saying 'Good Morning' to her little corner of the world. As it raises itself from behing the cover of the sea, the whole horizon changes before her very eyes, dawning a new. As she watches, what was once that blacky inkness abiss becomes a sparkling, turquoise haven. Wecloming everyone to explore it's wonders. It glitters in the heat of the new sun, showig her what lies beneath its surface, she catch's just a glimpse of its secret world. As that wonderful orange sphere warms her legs, she realises it's time to start her day.

Thoughts

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks and I ended up thinking about the past and if I had the chance what advice I would give to myself ten years ago. Funnily enough I ended up writing a letter, to myself.

Dear Amanda,

I am writing to you on what happens to be your 27th Birthday. Now 27 is no way in old but it is not quite as young as we used to be. I remember our 17th birthday as if it was yesteday and I remember I couldn't wait for out 18th birthday. It was going to be my year. By the time I was 18 I would have finished high school, been at college, on my way to University and on my way to the rest of my life. Not that that happened lol. But do not worry this does not mean that our life is good. Just because life is not what we expected does not mean that we don't enjoy it. But I am not writing this letter to tell you about your life I am writing this letter to tell you to enjoy life. No matter what, live your life for you. Do not change who you are for anyone or anything.

Enjoy every moment, live your life. Don't think too much. Go with you instincts. We think about everything far too much. The rights, the wrongs and how it will effect others. Sometimes we go without to please someone else and we lose out. Stop this, yes take others into consideration but do not lose yourself in this process.

I believe that everyone goes through this yet sometimes one needs to be selfish to gain what they want and sometimes even what they need.

Amanda
